VIDEOS & PODCASTS
This video is a must-watch for anyone who is starting a business or currently working a job that doesn’t feel fulfilling. So many people are doing jobs that they think they should be doing rather than what they are truly passionate about. If you’re feeling stuck or aren’t sure that the business you’re starting is right for you, give this video a watch!
This is one of the most watched TED Talks to date and for good reason. Simon Sinek explains why some businesses or people are more successful than others (and the answer might not be what you’d expect). If you’re only going to watch one video, make it this one!
Marie Forleo is one of the reasons that I decided to move forward with A Moment of Madness. She is such an inspiring woman and knows her stuff when it comes to creating an online business! She has a video series called MarieTV and it is AMAZING! Her videos are easy to digest, plus she is fun and entertaining to watch! I recommend signing up for her emails so that you can get updates whenever she posts a new video.
I recently watched a few episodes of Oprah’s Master Class and I definitely recommend that you check them out. I find it really inspiration to listen to other people who are masters of their field and learn about how they got to where they are and what lessons they’ve learned along the way. I especially loved the episodes with Ellen DeGeneres and Justin Timberlake (mostly because I’m obsessed with both of them).
This podcast is run by two of my great friends, Steph Schertz of Bushyl and Meghan Maydel of With Moxie & Grace. It is designed for creative entrepreneurs and covers a wide range of topics that any business owner can relate to! These two are funny, entertaining and will definitely keep you coming back for more!
I think that this book should be a requirement for EVERYONE! It’s a personality test of sorts that helps us figure out our unique strengths. This really helped me learn more about myself and how I work. I also think it is really great for learning which areas you’re not quite as strong in and realizing that it is okay to not be great at everything. Focus on your strengths and hire other people who fill in the gaps where you aren’t quite as strong.
This book is a really quick read and will help you make great connections with people in the first 90 seconds of meeting them. This book also teaches you how to turn those instant connections into long-lasting, productive relationships.
This book was written by the same guy, Simon Sinek, who did the TED Talk that I listed in the Videos section above. The book explores what separates great companies and great leaders from the rest of the pack and will change the way you think about your business and the people you hire.

This one is for the ladies! The Everygirl is one of my absolute favorite websites. I check it out each day as part of my morning routine. They have posts about everything from fashion & food to politics & current events. I especially love their career profiles and business posts. As a female entrepreneur, it helps me tremendously to read about other amazing women who are pursing their dreams.
When I mention website copy or email content to business owners, they often tell me that they are awful writers or would love to send out emails but have no clue what to be sending. If this sounds like you, I highly recommend signing up for My Copyblogger! Registration is free and includes tons of ebooks, webinars and forums, all centered around copy writing!
